Ellipsis Gaming

A collection of musings about video games and video game culture.

What Is Ellipsis Gaming?

Webster defines “ellipsis” and “gaming” as follows…

Ellipsis

1: a: the omission of one or more words that are obviously understood but that must be supplied to make a construction grammatically complete b: a sudden leap from one topic to another

2: marks or a mark (as …) indicating an omission (as of words) or a pause

Gaming

1: the practice of gambling

2 a: the playing of games that simulate actual conditions (as of business or war) especially for training or testing purposes b: the playing of video games

This blog plans on focusing on the bolded parts of those definitons (the rest is just an vocabulary lesson at no charge). Without putting them down, I do tend to feel that whether due to time restraints or physical space (such as in a magazine), a lot of what us gamers read about feels lacking. Perhaps “incomplete” is the better word to use. While the normal game magazine or site will offer tons more info then we ever possibly could, we will try to make up for that with some serously in depth writing. As the name would imply (sort of, anyway… you try coming up with a good blog name on the spot), we will attempt to fill the void that is often found in video game writing, including some of the things that you didnt even realize you were missing.
