What is not to love about a catchy tune from an addictive game displayed in a visually pleasing way?

Nothing. Just try to keep the sing-along to a low volume if you are at work.

MLB Pushing “The Force Unleashed”

Posted by Radie on September 3, 2008

In a rather strange move, Major League baseball appears to be promoting the newest game from LucasArts, The Force Unleashed.

Seeing as how the main demographic target for baseball and video games are essentially the same, this isnt too much of a surprise, especially after recent news that the MLB could start streaming games to consoles. It isnt too hard to see why a game might advertise on MLB’s site.

However one particular aspect of the promotion did catch my eye as kind of strange and unique.

The schedules for all the teams on MLB.com (and thus on each teams Official Site) have a little image of everyones favorite Sith, Darth Vader on the calendar day that the game is set to release (Sept. 16th).

Pretty interesting.

This actually reminds me that I have a conflict of interest. I will be picking up the game on that date (most likely during lunch while at work) but will have to wait until much later in the night to play as I will also be attending the Mets game on that night as well.

Click the attached image or go to MLB’s Team Schedules and click on “Regular Season Schedule” next to each team’s logo to see for yourself.
